Photography Blog

Well I've been saying I was going to start a blog for my photography stuff. To be honest I've been scared of it. Well I finally jumped into it. You will see it emerge over the next couple of weeks as I get it started and I figure out what works best. My friend Megan motivated me to get mine rolling after she posted her "Photography Journal". So I'd like to share my photography journal as well and here it is Sarah Nicole Photography. I enjoy taking photos and have learned so much in the last year and a half. I'm  looking forward to  reading new books, re-reading old books, doing Google searches, playing with Photoshop, taking classes, attending workshop, seeing new faces, playing, shopping for props, and all my adventures into photography. I hope you'll join me.

Tanner - 9 months well check

9 month update:

Length: 29 inches
Weight: 21lbs 10ozs
Head Circumference: 43.7 cm
Eye color: Blue
Hair: Light Brown
He now has 8 teeth.

He is still our happy baby. He is usually pretty content where ever he is and loves every body. Often when we pick him up from nursery at church he is the happy quite baby while many others are ready for their moms and dads to come back (granted we do go to a 6:30 evening service, which is probably bedtime for many of them.) He is now starting to crawl on his knees and is pulling him self up on everything and causing trouble. He LOVES Weston and belly laughs at him often. He also loves to be playing where ever Weston is and enjoys all of his toys. He kind of skipped baby foods and we have moved on to finger foods for about two months now. We are still hesitate to try rice but he eats anything else. Feeding him table food has made my job a lot easier since for the most part he eats whatever we are eating with maybe a little extra fruit or veggies.

Weston's 4 year old well check

(Thanks Kristen for letting us borrow the bike, I may want to again. It was freezing outside when we took him out last weekend and now it's snowing again so we won't get another chance for a while. )

Height: 40 1/2 inches (He's turning into a bean pole.)
Weight: 37.25 pounds
Vision: 20/20
Hearing: Passed
Scored above average on his "Ages & Stages Questionnaires".

Things he loves: family (especially cousins and grandparents), video games with dad, playing Legos, doing school work, riding bikes/scooters, playing with other kids. Just recently he has really enjoyed swim lessons!! He really loves and cares about "baby Tanner".

He is eating much better these days and is willing to try new foods. He still loves sweets though. Some of his favorite foods are: sausage bread (with spicy sausage), monkey bread, Costco pizza, cantaloupe, apples, carrots, quesdillas, and grill cheese sandwiches.

We also have an update regarding his recent speech evaluation. I was concerned about his articulation of words. Speech has always been a little tough for Weston. So we took him down to Child Find and he evaluated by a speech/language pathologist and a occupational therapist. After spending some time with him they determined he falls on the low side of average and believe that with a little extra work at home he will catch up by age 5. After sitting and listening to the evaluations take place I even heard a difference (improvement). I sometimes think Weston just talks to fast and I think some words have become a habit. He did very well with all the other things they reviewed and said he is very ready (and maybe a little above) for kindergarten. Which for me was a compliment since we only do things at home. I'm not the most confident person and second guess everything I do. I was very proud of him. They even commented on how polite and well mannered he was (a proud mommy moment). I can't believe he's 4 years old already, before I know he's going to be 18.

Cracker Bandit

Since Tanner is moving around a lot more I have been busy making the house some what baby proof. We don't put locks on things, we just make sure things that he can get into are safe. So anyways I cleaned the house yesterday and felt pretty good about it. I was making dinner and Weston was doing some preschool work. Well he made a quick dash to the bathroom. Tanner was playing in the living room, or so I thought. It was really quite so I decided to take a look and this is what I found....

.....Weston must have put his bag of crackers (whole wheat Ritz) on the couch on the way to the bathroom. When I found Tanner I just laughed and was happy they were Ritz. It was his first time having those and he sure enjoyed them. I let him continue having his fun...little cracker bandit. Brisby was the clean up crew. It just goes to show you how different it is when there is more than one kiddo.

He also ate a laptop key last weekend. Once again the house was clean but a laptop was left out on the arm of the couch and he picked off a key and ate it. We did not know this. Mark told me Saturday afternoon he was missing a key and we knew it had only been gone a couple of hours. Well it showed up in the next diaper change. :) We are very thankful nothing else happened. So needless to say no laptops are allowed on couches or within reach for that matter.

Oh, Mr. Tanner is going to keep me on my toes. (He makes me smile even when he gets caught.)

9 months

My littlest baby baby is already 9 months old. We have a well check up next week so I will give updates then on his size on everything. He is still a happy baby. These days he is teething like mad so something is always in his month and his favorite teether is his thumb. We love him to pieces!! (I took these real quick a couple of minutes ago, I love the light that was reflecting off the cabinets.)
