Slip 'N Slide

Today we pulled out the slip 'n slide for a little bit. It's only in the 80's and I think the water was cold so it didn't last too long.

Weston's first run thru.

Tanner watching Weston.

Not so sure of the pool.

I'm sure these items will get plenty of use through out the summer.

Aurora Organic Dairy

Today we took a drive out to Niwot, Loveland, and Platteville, Colorado. We decided to drive by one of the dairy locations Mark will be working at. Mark starts he's new job on Tuesday and is very excited about it (we all are). We are looking forward to having medical benefits and dental again. Mark is also looking forward to working for one company again. We have heard many good things about this company.  The other location in Boulder is the corporate office (no pictures of that one yet).

So we believe this site is the processing and shipping plant.
(Sorry I only had my 50mm lens so we weren't able to zoom.)

Doudy Draw Trail

So today's trail pick was Doudy Draw. It was a beautiful morning for a hike and we were able to enjoy the hike today with the Jones family. Thank you Lauren, Joe, and Bear for meeting up with us today. We enjoyed our time together and hope we can do it again soon.

The boys enjoyed the fields of wildflowers and dandelions.

Cows on the trail.

Hail Storm

Last night the Denver area had a crazy storm front go through. There was hail and tornado warnings throughout different counties. I was amazed by the damage done by hail. Over by the airport there were reports of golf ball size hail. At our house we had marble size hail. I was thankful it only lasted a little while and we didn't have any damage. I feel so bad for the people that did. I was especially thankful since my car was sitting outside at the Toyota dealership waiting to be serviced.

It came down really hard.

That's not snow, it's hail.

One of the pieces that bounced into our house. I didn't want to go out and get one, it was kind of scary.

Pudding Painting

The older boys (Weston and his friend) were water color painting and Tanner wanted to join them so I let him "pudding paint".

of course he had to taste it too :)

Tanner is Walking

Here is a little video I took of Tanner walking this morning. We had a request by family last night to post a video, so here it is. I promise to post another one this week. He is walking just about all the time. He'll crawl over to a wall or table to stand up and then he'll be off again. I hope you enjoy seeing him walk. I love when babies first learn to walk.

More Hiking

We have decided to try and do a hike each weekend if the weather is good. We hope this will be something the kids will remember when they get older. Even though sometimes it's tough we hope they enjoy the challenge. One of my favorite memories as a child is all the great bike rides we went on with my mom and some of the walks we went on with my parents and our dogs. This weekend we did the Bald Mountain Scenic Trail in Boulder. It was very kid friendly and had great scenic views. Mark and I also enjoyed a nice bike ride today. We are loving our 70 degree weather and hoping to burn some calories with hiking and biking.

For Fun

I'm at my computer trying to pick pictures to edit for my photography blog. I want to learn so much more about photography especially editing. I just need to find the time. I have so much work to do on the photography blog also and I really want it to start rolling. I would love to have someone look through my thousands of photos and select some for each post. I have the hardest time selecting photos. Hopefully soon it will be updated. I wanted to post this one because I love his expression. This is Weston and I love that he has his daddy's eyes. This (Weston and Tanner) is what distracts me from photo editing so often. Okay until next week....

Denver Zoo

We visited the Denver Zoo today and it is a beautiful zoo. When we got stuck in traffic getting into the park I wasn't too excited about the day. It already seemed so crowded but once we got inside it wasn't so bad. We later heard that Fridays in May are bad to visit because a lot of schools visit the zoo in May as end of the year field trips. So I learned my lesson. The zoo was very easy to get around and Weston was excited that we saw a lot of animals. His favorite animal of the day were the mountain goats. We do plan on visiting again but I will admit I missed the treehouse playground and kids area that the Phoenix zoo has.

Lauren thank you for letting us get in on your membership pass. We look forward to going again.
(Oh and I have pictures for you too. I will burn them to a disk.)

So I decided to only use my 105mm lens today and it went pretty well but I of course was bummed when a couple shots didn't turn out. I obviously didn't focus properly and unfortunately the lens doesn't focus as fast as I would like at times. It sure is a sharp lens when the user focuses correctly though. :)

A picture that I was bummed didn't turn out. :(

More From Our Vegas Trip

Playing with grandma in Vegas. So of course I wish I took more photos. I barley had my camera out on this trip and I wish I took more photos. I even met up with a family I babysat for in CA but I didn't take one photo. How sad is that? They have beautiful kids who are in college and high school and I would have loved to have a photo of them and us. Bummer. I hope to not make that mistake again.

These pictures were taken in the worst spot ever but we were getting ready to head our separate ways and I wanted some quick photos. So the parking lot it was. So they are not the best but I'm happy we took them.
