Photography Blog Reminder

If you haven't checked out the photography blog in a while take a moment to check it out.

Also, I wanted to let you know I will posting my images at a smaller size (resolution wise) for safety reasons. So if you click on the photo to make them larger they will be fuzzy. If you are a family member and want a picture of the boys or something just e-mail me. As far as photography pictures, it's security for my clients. I hope you all understand and still enjoy checking out the blogs.

Summer Nights

I love that we live within walking distance to a little splash pad. Sometimes after dinner we take a quick trip over there. The kids play in the water for a bit and then run around the playground and go on the swings.

Tanner Checking it out.

Mark didn't know I took this one. Tanner loves his daddy.

Weston running through the water.

In the background you can see our bikes. Mark bought me a new bike off Craigslist for $35 (the orange one) and he bought us a kid trailer. I love riding bikes and we go very often (as long as it's not super windy or rainy). Weston even asks now at dinner time and I love that. He is even getting pretty good at going long distances on his bike. I have many great memories of riding my bike with my mom and brother. I hope this is something our boys remember also.

Then I decided to play around with my camera and the light a little bit. I used my kit lens which I rarely use but should play with more often. Some of these images I thought were fun.

I love this one!!

The last photo I took before we left the park. :) I thought it was pretty neat.

The Joy of My Life

Our boys are getting big so fast.

Tanner: 13 months
Weston: 4 1/2 years

Yogurt Head

I turned my back for two minutes after dinner one night to wash up some dishes and this is what happened. Both boys thought it was hilarious. :) I figured the damage was done, I might as well take some photos. Needless to say the boys had baths that night.

Birdie

Tanner loves watching the birdies out the back door.

Cousins in CO

The cousins came to visit us in Colorado. We had a couple hours of sunshine together than it rained the whole time. Such a bummer but the kids loved playing in the basement. It was great to see them but once again I wish I took more photos.

50mm 1.8 lens

So I love my 50mm fixed lens and highly recommend that you get one if you own a DSLR camera. I have a 1.8 and I'm starting to wish I bought the 1.4. Sometimes I get rockin' images and other times I wish they were sharper (granted I know this could be user error) since I shoot in primarily manual mode. This week I'm playing around with my camera to attempt to get the images sharper. I'm also starting to explore Aperture Priority Mode as well since I will be 2nd shooting my first wedding at the end of June. That may be a better mode to shoot with for a fast paced wedding. I'm feeling fairly comfortable in with my camera on manual so I'm wanting to learn more. So I've borrowed some more books from the library and have started exploring other buttons on my camera. I'm also starting to understand Photoshop more though I still want awesome images straight out of the camera. Who wants to edit all their scrapbooking photos? I don't. I want awesome family pics SOOC. I think it's fun to just add a little flair sometimes and play around. I'm not for creating a great photo in Photoshop. I like great photos right from the start.

Two upcoming challenges. 1.) Night light (no flash) 2.) Sunflare
I'm hoping to play around this week. I'll post what I get later. :)

Here's my goofy son. He is used to having a camera in his face all the time. Yesterday Mark showed him how he can touch his nose with his tongue. So this is Weston's attempt. :)

(I felt this image came out pretty sharp. I just wish Tanner boys would sometimes.)

Heritage Park (goofing around)

Playing at the park for Flatirons Community Church Baby Dedication. Thank you Corrie and Leigh for inviting us to join your family and be apart of Noah's (your family's) special day. I can't wait to see the pictures you took.

This is our garbage find. The other day we were headed out to a park for a play date and one of our neighbors had put out three Fisher Price tricycles (all different) for trash pick up. I picked up all three (and later thanked the neighbors) and gave away two of them. For now Weston has been really enjoying this bike but today Tanner got a chance to sit on it. I think he will enjoy it also. I want to get the stickers off and give it a wash down but other than that it works great. Weston says, "Now I have a motorcycle but dad doesn't." Ouch!!

(This picture is a tad on the yellow side, today I was taking pictures in Aperture Priority Mode. I'm not so sure of it though.)

Cars (Tanner's new favorite thing)

Tanners loves pushing things around the kitchen and on the tables. Lately he's been playing with all sorts of cars. He LOVES to play with Weston. So if the big boys let him join in he really enjoys it. It's crazy to think that in just a couple of months they will be playing more and more together. I already find them rolling around on the floor together giggling. I LOVE that!! I hope their friendship grows stronger as Tanner gets older.

Movie in the Park

Tonight we went down to the Erie Rec Center for "Movie in the Park" night. Tonight's feature was "Planet 51". I think the boys had a good time and I hope they do it again. I only took a couple of pictures.

(Mark had to work on a server for bit and joined us late.)

Waiting.....

.....beginning of the movie

Keyboard Snacker

If a keyboard is in reach, Tanner is there.

Legos

Weston LOVES to play with his Legos. So this post is for him.

(I was playing in Photoshop with actions but these may be to yellow. I was going for a seventies look. I think I'll play around a little more. Oh, how I wish I knew more about Photoshop.)
